Clinical Signs of a Pet Emergency

Contact our animal hospital or your nearest after-hours emergency vet if you observe any of the following signs in your pet:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Hemorrhaging (even following compression)
  • Bloated/distended abdomen
  • Possible broken bones
  • Unable to stand or walk
  • Weak and disoriented
  • Collapse
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Seizure lasting several minutes/had several seizures in 24 hours
  • No eating or drinking in 24 hours or more
  • Straining/unable to urinate or defecate
  • Consumed something poisonous
  • Was attacked by a wild animal
  • Was hit by a car
  • Fell from a high place
  • Continuous vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Bleeding from ears, nose, and/or mouth
